Located on the border of North and South Carolina, Lake Wylie is a residential and recreational haven for those who live and work in and around Charlotte. The man-made lake covers more than 13,000 acres and includes 325 miles of shoreline. Bustling with marinas, seafood restaurants, and the increasingly-common sight of new construction shopping centers and neighborhoods, Lake Wylie is the smaller but more-affordable alternative to Lake Norman.
Carolinians spend weekends fishing, boating, kayaking or canoeing, and enjoying a host of water sports on the lake. Lake Wylie living translates to stunning lakeside sunrises and sunsets, natural wooded areas, and beautiful lakefront homes. Because Lake Wylie is typically less busy than Lake Norman, it also provides a quieter and decidedly less-luxurious atmosphere than Lake Norman. It’s a great place to raise a family, buy a lake house, or escape from the city. In fact, quick access to Charlotte from I-77 makes it an ideal commuter location for lake lovers. While access to Charlotte is a major plus, the areas right around the lake offer all the amenities of full-scale communities, from restaurants to shopping and more.
Lake Wylie is home to some beautiful communities such as The Sanctuary, a neighborhood of approximately 200 beautiful custom homes on 1350 acres where 80% of the land will remain undeveloped. The Palisades is a massive planned community composed of several smaller neighborhoods itself. Whether you’re looking for a townhouse, a waterfront estate, or something in between, houses on Lake Wylie are both a great investment and a great place to live.
