Stallings, North Carolina

Stallings is a suburb located to the Southeast of Charlotte that straddles both Union and Mecklenburg counties. With only about 13,000 people within the city limits, it’s a small community that benefits from close proximity to Charlotte metro as well as other growing towns like MatthewsMint Hill, and Indian Trail. Stallings wasn’t incorporated until 1975 when I-74/Independence shuttled traffic through town from Charlotte to Monroe.

Because it’s a small town, Stallings places special emphasis on community events. Family Night in the Park, a giant Easter Egg Hunt, and several municipal parks draw thousands of visitors a year. There are over 400 registered businesses and restaurants in Stallings, most of them either small, family-owned shops or chains. Since 2000, Stallings’ population has grown nearly 75% thanks to continued development within Charlotte and along the I-485 corridor.

Why are people looking for houses in Stallings? Union County’s public schools are considered some of the best in the entire state, and the adjacent town of Weddington is quickly becoming a hotbed for luxury developments that follow school district lines. Because it’s so residential, Stallings offers dozens of neighborhood developments perfect for families, empty nesters, and first-time buyers. With an average commute into Charlotte and one of the country’s busiest airports only 16 miles away, Stallings is a perfect suburb for both convenience and quiet.
